This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP“) governs the use of all services provided by IT Storm Technology Inc. By using IT Storm services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
1. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on IT Storm infrastructure:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Zero tolerance. Accounts hosting CSAM are terminated immediately and reported to the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and law enforcement authorities.
- Phishing, scam, or fraud content targeting any individual or organization
- Malware, ransomware, spyware, trojans, or any software designed to harm, exploit, or gain unauthorized access
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Defamatory, harassing, or threatening content
- Content that promotes violence, terrorism, or illegal discrimination
2. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited regardless of content:
- Spam: Sending bulk unsolicited email (UCE/UBE) from or through IT Storm servers. This includes using IT Storm mail servers as relays for third-party spam campaigns.
- Network attacks: Launching or facilitating DoS, DDoS, SYN flood, or any other network disruption attack
- Port scanning: Scanning networks or systems you do not own or have explicit written permission to test
- Cryptocurrency mining: Running cryptocurrency mining software on shared hosting infrastructure
- Proxy and VPN abuse: Operating open proxies, anonymizing VPNs, or Tor exit nodes on IT Storm servers
- Excessive resource use: Consuming server resources (CPU, RAM, disk I/O) at a level that degrades service for other customers. CloudLinux LVE limits are enforced automatically; sustained abuse may trigger manual intervention.
- Unauthorized access: Attempting to access systems, accounts, or data without authorization
- IRC servers: Operating IRC servers or bots on shared hosting accounts
3. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)
IT Storm respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content hosted on IT Storm infrastructure infringes your copyright, send a DMCA takedown notice to [email protected] with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the infringing material; (c) your contact information; and (d) a statement of good faith belief and accuracy under penalty of perjury.
4. Abuse Reporting
To report abuse originating from IT Storm infrastructure, email [email protected] or [email protected]. We investigate all reports and typically respond within one business day.
5. Enforcement
IT Storm reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account found in violation of this AUP, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation. Accounts terminated for AUP violations are not eligible for refunds. IT Storm cooperates fully with law enforcement investigations related to illegal activity on its infrastructure.
